Hi All,
I'm not very sure where I should be putting in my post but I'll still try it here anyway.
My LO has just turned 12mths old. I had planned to start teaching him to sleep independently aft his first birthday. I had thought about doing it earlier. However our travel plans back then would have disrupted the teaching. now that we are back home I have loads of other issues to cope with as well. Just need some advice from some of you on the following:
Due to us travelling to a different time zone for 3 weeks, LO's routine had been turned topsy turvy. It took me a few days to get him back on track. Generally, the meal times and bedtime + wake up time (in the morning) have returned to before. However, the naps are bad. On some days, LO would nap twice a day. on others only once. When he napped once, he napped straight after lunch. He would usually be tired around 11am but it's too close to his lunch. So i would feed him first and let him nap after. The problem is that he gets tired again very close to dinnertime (around 4-5pm). If i let him sleep, his bedtime would be delayed. I'm really not sure how I should manage this because i really don't wish to get him overtired. Neither do i wish to deal with a cranky tod.
The other question is this: with the routine still out of place, should I even attempt to sleep train him? LO is pulling to stand a lot now and I noticed some signs of cruising (very tentative). I'm not sure if this would hinder the training. If I do give him enough practice during the day, would that help or hinder?
Thanks in advance!
