nearly 3 early wakings
« on: June 16, 2008, 07:38:30 am »
Hi my son is 3 in August and we have started having a porblem woth early wakings. he goes to bed at 8 and used to wake between 7-7.30. about 2 weeks ago i woke at 5.30 being sick which woke him, the next morning dad woke at 5 neing sick then that was it been gettin up early ever since. i have a 9month old who he has been waking who is now starting to wake at 6ish thanks to it now being a habit for both of them, so if one sleeps a little later the other 1 wakes up and wakes us all!

Damon had about a month of sleep issues in januiary after we had stayed away where he was  night waking not staying in bed when i put him up and early waking but i fixed it-silly things did it like a new douvet, tucket in tight with a blanket under douvet got him to stay in bed and a nightlight got him to sleep through again. now i am left with the night light thou!

when he occasionally wakes in the night-never happened since he was 6months til january n now we got one every 2 weeks or so i put him staright back minimal fuss and it normally only takes once, i have tried wi/wo for his early wakes but i get to about 10times and i have to say give up as ds2 is crying or something.

i have thopuight about black out blinds but as we have the light on i didnt see this being the issue-do i need to get rid of the light and get black out blinds?

any ideas?

meant to say he still has a nap of 1 hour everyday-i wake him from this or he'd be asleep forever, it is at random times depending on what we do but he is always up by 4. could this be a problem? do kids decide to give up there own naps or do we have to do it for them?

I'm sorry you don't have any responses yet.

I'm not exactly full of ideas but I would recommend making his naptime more regular.
