Probably a stupid question but...

... I am pregnant with number 2 and last time round I BF from the start and after a BIG battle, got DD to take a bottle at around 6 months. This time, I am planning on BF (all being well) and bottle feeding from day one.

So my stupid question is, when you put your hospital bag together, do you take pre-sterilised bottles? Do you have to take formula with you or do the hospitals supply it? 

Only a couple of weeks to go so getting myself organised this weekend but really wasn't sure what the best thing to do was?

They supply pre made bottles for whilst your in and have a choice of which milk you would prefer, or at least they did last time i had a baby 4 yrs ago

Might be best to check with your community midwife at your next appt to find out the hospital policy where you are delivering....where I delivered they had as Emma said above, little glass bottles and packets of nipples (sealed, pre sterilised) of Aptamil, Cow and Gate and SMA.   But, at the hospital where I first booked in (we mvoed half way through my pregnancy) there was a strict breastfeeding only policy (we had to sign an agreement before being booked in with them) and no formula was available (were not allowed to bring it in either)...I'm sure you would know if that was the case at your hospital as it was spelled out to me at my booking-in appt at 8wks pg, but just in case!!!!!

I would think it would depend on how long you are planning on being in hospital for as well. If it's a short stay baby won't need more than colostrum for the first feeds. I'm sure you have thought about this but maybe it would be better to just BF until your supply is established - but I guess that depends on your long term plan.

If your hospital don't provide formula you can buy the glass bottles with the pre-sterilised teats that hospitals have in places like babies-r-us or mothercare. I think they are a bit pricey but would be ok for hospital stay length of time.
