Hey girls...  Just wanted to pop in and say we are still doing well with one feeding.  Different times, but I'm really ok with it for now.  Honestly I'm scared to drop as to start EW!!  EEEEK!  I'd rather be up for 30 min for a feed and then all back to sleep.  Hope you are doing well.

Jo, how's it going?

Hi
Sorry, haven't been on for a while.  We have now managed to get down to one feed per night!  Yippee!  He now has his only feed around midnight.  Got some great advice on the nw board and decided to just get on and do it.  He has been given water if he wakes before midnight and this generally seems to do the trick.  We have been very lucky in that he hasn't really woken for another feed after this until he is wide awake in the early morning.  Last night, for example, he took 8oz at bedtime then first woke at 10.40pm.  Gave him a few sips of water and a quick cuddle and he went straight back to sleep.  He then woke at 11.45pm and needed feeding (He took 5 ounces).  He then didn't wake again until 4.40am but eventually went back to sleep at 5.40am until 6.25am.  We are still getting the nws but hopefully these will disappear as his body gets used to or bored with the water!  I think the key is consistency.  The dreaded ews are still happening and not really sure where to go next on this as nothing seems to work.  We tried diluting the feed but this didn't help at all with the ews so decided to just not bother.  So scared to really push to a much later bedtime in case he gets seriously OT.  He goes to nursery twice a week and sleeps badly there so needs an earlier bedtime on these days.  How do you get your lo back to sleep again if they have an ew?  We try to just leave Alex but once he starts chatting away to himself at top volume and rolling around on his back with his feet in the air we are done for the night.  We do try to leave him until he starts to fuss before we get him up.  This is generally an hour after he has woken up.  I so need some sleep after 4am!
Glad to hear things are going well for you.

That is great news.   ;D ;D ;D

If my LO wakes after around 5:30, she usually won't go back to sleep.  I usually wasn't able to get DS back to sleep either, as he had terrible EW's.  What I would try to do is rock him back to sleep, and it did work sometimes, especially once he got to fussing.
