i do small pieces of toast since Luca was about 6mths, and i spread avocado, philidelphia cheese and butter, or margarine, its fine as long as its not too much, and try to get the unsalted version.

At that age, I used to do cubes, rather than strips, then graduated onto strips when I knew he was OK with that.

Also, I used unsalted butter, rather than margarine. Mainly b/c I cut margarine out from our diets a few years ago, when I read what unpleasant things it has in there.
Caroline :)

I agree with Charlies Mommy.....butter is alot healthier than margarine. I have used apple butter as well, and I STILL cut it into cubes and my dd is 20 months old!  :-[  I tried giving her bigger pieces, but then she shoves too much in her mouth!

p.s There is no such thing as a stupid question around here!!
