too much day sleep = more NW's?
« on: September 29, 2008, 10:18:57 am »
Hi, my 3month old went from 8pm to 4am(fed) then woke again at 7am for the 1st time 2 nites ago  ;D, (he has previously done til 2am or 3am), his naps for that day only total 3.5 hrs - 1 morning nap at 1.5 hrs then 2 catnaps for about 1 hr each. (had to do EASAE).
On a normal day he has 3 1.5hr naps (sometimes a catnap as well before bath but he usually always fights it) total 4.5hr naps.
Does this mean he doesn't need long naps and will sleep better with shorter ones?

Thanks
Cath

Hi, might have been a coincidence, or he might have been more tired, but certainly being more tired on a regular basis is not a good thing and will result in problems from being OT.  Usually, naps of longer than 2 hours are not recommended as they can take away from night sleep and result in NWs.  It sounds like your routine is great though!  Keep up the good work! :)
