Are these OT NW's?
« on: October 31, 2008, 21:05:46 pm »
My first toddler sleep post  :P

For the last 10 nights or so Callie (12 months) has woken nearly every night crying.  Time varies between midnight and 5am.  She is crying, still lying down, more often than not has her lovie.  I shush her, give her a rub and she usually goes back to sleep.  If she cries more then I give her some calpol as I had suspected teething.  When she got her 2 bottom teeth she had identical NW's.

However, I can see no sign of teeth this time (but didn't really last time either until they were popped!), and tonight she is crying at 9pm which she hasn't done in MONTHS.  We are going between 1 and 2 naps so I am wondering if it is OT related, but happens on days she has had great naps.  She is a great independent sleeper.

EASY is either:

730 up
1130/1145 - 2/230 sleep
6/630 bed

or

730 up
11-1230 sleep
430 - 5 sleep
7/715 bed

if we have an early bed she will usually sleep til about 8 then next day when I wake her.

She's getting clingy during the day, if I am on the floor she climbs onto me and hangs on like a baby monkey etc.  Never cries when I leave her for naps, never cries going down at night.  Doesn't cry when I leave the room at NW's but sometimes starts back up again.  Not a desperate cry like Ciara did during her SA stage though.

I'm baffled!!

TIA x

That's what I have thought all along.  Was speaking to Paula on msn last night and everything she is doing night and day is just like teething was last time, so it must be that.

She's wanting to sleep more day and night too which she did with last 2 teeth.  Slept 6pm - 830am last night, cried at night but resettled herself.  Ready to go back down at 1030 this morning :o

eeek a toddler!!

With both of mine I found the teeth pushing up in the jaw hurt far more than just cutting. Poor Callie.

Also going to say teething. K has become so clingy in the last few weeks, walks or crawls after me with his arms up and will push me if I dont pick him up, so not like him. No real problems going to bed but also some wake ups now and again, his whole gum line top and bottom are raw and swollen. I feel like I am turning him into a drug addict, pain meds every night.

Same here Fiona.

Horrid day today.  Hardly ate a thing, clingy, whingy, crying, doing an amazing job of impersonating a limpet :P

I slept in this mornind and had to wake her at 9am, and she was back in bed 1130 - 2 then down for the night at 6.  Bless her.

(((Hugs))) to you all x

Great news Natasha :)

Callie went to bed at 620pm, cried out at 130am but by the time I had made a loo trip she was sleeping again.  Some noises around 630ish but resettled til I woke her at 730am.

I can see huge bums on her top gum now.  The right side is much lower than the left so I am guessing it is bothering her.

Bless our babies x
