am totally desperate!  My almost-12 month old has been waking at night for over a month!  At first I thought it may be the transition to daycare-but that went excellent, then he was teething...but that has resolved...He has been waking every night b/n 1130 and 130.  He begins crying hysterically and is usually standing up in his crib fully awake when I go in.  He is easily reassured if I pick him up and rock him in my arms for 10 minutes and usually goes back to sleep without much else help.  But now hes waking twice a night and it is taking longer and longer to get him back to sleep!  What has happened!  We have been on EASY since day one and he has slept through the night with no problem since 4 months!  Please help!  Here is his schedule...

7am wake up
730 breakfast
930-10 - nap #1 usually lasts for 1.5 hours
11-1130-lunch
3-nap usually lasts 1hour
430-5-dinner
730-8-bottle and bed

please help!

hi i can sympathise with you my 11 month old has been doing this from 6 months i have no idea why we have tried lots of things and still no joy i even paid alot of money for cranial osteopathy .i would think it is the transition to daycare, not because he doesn't enjoy it but they say any change ie holidays etc can cause night waking .have you tried the pick up/put down method i am going to give this a go its my last hope or i am resigning to being awake in the night till she is old enough to sleep through of her own accord .love to you babe i know what it is like im shattered but i love my baby and will do anything to make her happy xxxxxxx

Hi Vikki- just read your post- are you rocking your LO to sleep twice a night now? My LO went through this around 1 yo, after teething. He got used to me coming in and rocking him back to sleep, started waking 2-3 times a night, then I figured out he was not hurting, just expected me to come in.

I did WI/WO for several nights. First 2 nights were bad. I did dose w/ MOtrin just in any remote case of pain. then when he woke I did WI/WO. He hollered at me for an hour, then gave up. It took about 3 nights, then he started STTN.

HTH! Good luck!
