Freezing formula?

I've started to think about feeding ds purees. I seem to have forgotten EVERYTHING that I did with dd when I was weaning her!

I have just dug out the Lorraine Kelly weaning book that I'd bought when dd was a baby. Some of the recipes she uses include formula, such as mashed potato, but then it gives freezing guidelines. ??? Is this safe? I've been trying to think about what I did with dd, and I think I may have just used cow's milk, but I'm not sure.

I just want to be prepared for when we start on the solid foods in a month or so. Although, this time, I know what's coming so I'm not as eager to start.  ;)

you can freeze formula when it is mixed with food but not on its own. When your lo reaches 6 months you can use cows milk with cereal and in cooking as long as the main drink remains breast/formula milk.

Or you could freeze the purees without formula and add it after you heat them up. I think the formula might get a big "chunky" after freezing, purely an aesthetic thing, not safety.
