What about in stews or casseroles?  Mine don't care for it too much when it's just a hunk of meat, but they'll eat it in other forms...

Christina, Colin was exactly the same except he wouldn't even do hamburger! Then one day I had an idea and offered something to dip it in. That was the solution and we never looked back! He still loves to dip and is more likely to eat meat that way. :)

Beef is a good source of iron. I get slices of roast beef and put them through the food processor and add the beef to spaghetti bolognese

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I have tried the dipping that doesnt always work either.I can get him to dip homemade chicken nuggets in sauce but thats about it and casseroles arent always a big hit either but if hes in the mood he will eat them.He really eats best when everything is separate.I am going to try blending it though and mixing it in things.Cant believe i didnt think of that one.

Thank You
Christina

My DD isn't too much for meat either but loves pasta so I make up a tomato sauce and blend red lentils into it with veg and herbs and use that as a base for bolognese, tuna or just plain and the lentils contain iron and protein so if she doesn't eat meat it doesn't matter. I also use different beans in stuff that helps too.

My LO not great with meat either except sausages (mini ones). He will eat an amount of casarole stuff but only with natural youghurt on it!! I work on the over 1 week balanced diet theory and so don't worry too much if at some meals he doesn't really have much meat and then make it up at others. Sometimes with much natural yoghurt!!!

My dd is a self-made vegetarian too!!!  I grate cooked chicken and mix it into stuffing...she loves this!!  Also ground turkey chopped up tiny into tomato sauce. She also loves my homemade chicken soup, as long as the chicken is tiny and almost un-noticeable.
You can sneak almost anything into tomato sauce!!  Grating chicken is hard...sometimes I just chop it up tiny...like the size of rice.

Oh yeah, and recently I was able to hide some grated chicken into mashed potatoes...I'm going to try that with ground beef.

Good luck!!! IMO it's a good idea to keep offering the "real" meats, but keep on sneaking it in on the side.  I offer it to dd every time me and dh are having it.  Bless her, she will always taste it, but then spits it out!!
