Ok, I just wanted to post how our last 3 days went. I still need to give things a bit more time, I know. But my husband spent more time with Ashlinn this weekend putting her down for naps, etc so he could get a feel for it, and he has his own ideas about things. Plus, I'm wondering about wake up time in the am...do I wake her at the same time everyday, say 7am, so I can better judge when that am nap should start, or let her sleep? Sometimes she wakes up @ 6:30, sometimes as late as 7:15. Thanks for hanging in here with me ladies! ;-)

Friday:
6:45 Wake
9:05-10:40 nap 1; Woke after 30 mins. and went back to sleep with help from me. I held her which I normally don't do but this was Friday, and I'd had it by this point.
2-2:30 nap 2
7:30 Bed

Sat:
7:15 Had to wake her up
10:22-11:13 nap 1
2:15-3:15 nap 2
7:50 Bed - She slept all night and didn't wake for her bottle

Sun:
6:55 Wake
10:15-10:45 nap 1
2:20-3:00 nap 2
7:30 Bed

My husband thinks she might be waking early from the pm nap b/c she's hungry. Today, I fed her a snack right before that nap b/c we'd had an early lunch, and it didn't seem to help her sleep longer. But she ate her whole bottle when she woke up at 3pm. I think we're just wracking our brains for what else to do to get her sleeping longer! :-)

Are you trying for the long AM nap or long PM nap? I know we've discussed both options, so just wondering what you've decided. :)

I think those AM naps may be UT even though she's only sleeping 30min. I'm thinking that because the first A time on Fri wasn't even 3hrs. So, if you want to have a short AM nap, keep putting her down for first nap after 3hr A time. If you want a long AM though, I would try adding 15min. She's probably close to a 3.5/4hr A time right now.

I bet after a short AM nap her A time is about 3hr 15/30min. The short AM nap is nice because it's super easy to fit in feeds around naps. My DD wakes from nap 1 about 4/4.5hrs from her last E. Then I give her another E before her second nap, so it's been about 3/3.5hrs since her last bottle. She ends up with bottles at 7, 11:15, 2:30 and 8 with meals in between. The 11:15 and 2:30 are only 4oz so essentially an 8oz cut in half with lunch in between. She used to only get 3 bottles per day but TBH, it was a pain trying to get her to drink an entire bottle shortly after lunch.

I would try to keep morning wake up around the same time each day. My DD has about a 30min window she wakes up in and that seems to work. You don't need to be exact with the timing, just relatively close.

HTH! Let us know how it goes!

Checking back in to update on our week!

And it's good news~ Ashlinn had a wonderful week! On Monday, everything just turned suddenly back to normal. And honestly, the only thing that I can point to is her reflux medication. I had quit giving it to her in the morning when she was sick and on antibiotics. She usually gets it twice a day. I never really noticed much of a difference when she was down to once per day, but she was sick anyway, and I might have missed the clues. We seem to have found the right A times for her now. She wakes up happy and babbling. Thanks for all the help in my darkest hours...:)

So this has been her schedule this week, and we are both well-rested and happy!

7am Wake
10am-11/11:15 Nap 1 (3 hrs A time)
2:30ish Nap 2 (3.25-3.5 A time)
7:30 Bed

I'd love to know about others' experience with reflux. I've never looked on here and will have to go check and see what I can find.

I'm glad to hear things are returning to normal! Definitely go check out the reflux board. Lots of great advice there!
