PLEASE PLEASE HELP HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO STOP EW's
« on: April 14, 2009, 04:19:21 am »
Hi I have been on the 2-1 transition board and have got some advice but I am still having the EW's.
I tried the following
up 6.30am (having been awake from 5.30/5.45)
Sleep 11am
Up 11.25am (only allowed to sleep for 20mins)
Sleep 1.25pm
Up 3.10pm
Sleep 7.10pm
I was still getting EW's and was feeling confined to the house with the two naps being so close together.

So then on Sunday I decided to do
up 6.30am
Sleep 11.15am
Up 12.45pm (he woke himself)
sleep 6.15pm
He woke the next morning at 5.30am

So yesterday we did
6.30am up
Sleep 11.45am
Wake 2pm
Sleep 7pm
He woke this morning at 5am

I don't pick him up I go in an resettle, but he doesn't fall back asleep -
Today I am going to try 2 naps again cause although there was EW's it wasn't 5am!!

I am going for
up 6.15am (he was beginning to get annoyed in the cot having been in it awake since 5am!)
sleep 10.45am
Up 11am
Sleep 1pm
Up 2.30pm
Sleep 6.30pm

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be happening - he got his MMR yesterday and is still trying to walk so I know there are external issues that might be contributing to the whole thing also!

I look forward to reading all of your suggestions
Thank you
Amyx

actually after reading the posts on here I have decided today to stick with the one nap but limit the time to 1hour and 30mins.
So nap at 11.45 - 1.15pm and bed at 6.15pm
will let you know how this goes!

Hi Amy,

I have heaps of trouble with EW's and pretty much got the solution through the support for EW's sticky thread on this board.  If you look back through the history of that thread you'll see what's worked for others and what hasn't.

What I can say is that since you are needing to put your LO down early at night, your EW are prob not real EW's they are just the prodcict of any early night. 6.15am to 5am is nearly 11 hours which is a solid nights sleep, even this can be said for 10 hour nights too. It is very common thing to happen in the 2 to 1 swtich, dome LO's just won;t sleep in when they have an ealry night.  I would say that once LO gets used to one nap and the longer activity times you can stretch the bedtime to a little later at night and also get the nap time a little later.  Hopefully later wake-ups will follow suit.
I can post some links to my old threads where I got some good advice if you like.
