Okay...so a little update. while the site was down I was having major problems again...luckily Natasha is on my facebook so she was a listening ear.
I had one day out.ONE. which resulted in a short nap which lead to an overtired bedtime which lead to a whole week or more of crap. short naps and terrible bedtimes.
I got her back on track for about 2 days...and now we're back to crap bedtimes again. So, in total from when I first started this thread i've had mabye 5-7 good bedtimes.
I can't figure her out. I really can't. I must be missing something.
today was a good day, up at 7:15am, nap from 1-2:45pm bed at 7:15pm....it's 7:45pm and shes still talking, fussing, i've gone in twice and tried to rub her back but as soon as I leave she just starts crying or playing...bottom line she just won't SETTLE down and go to sleep.
I've had good naps the last few days and only ONCE did she go to sleep quickly.
the days she did looked like this:
7:10am awake
12:30-3pm nap
7:30pm bed straight to sleep!!!:)

I wonder if it's when she takes a LONG nap that she does best.....kinda seems that way but I can't get her to take long naps. she usually sleeps 1.75-2hrs on good days. those 2.5hr naps are rare but seem to result in quick and easy bedtimes.....
does ANYONE have any thoughts or suggestions? I just don't know what to do with her!!!
it makes me sad and frustrated that I feel like I can't help her.....

When she has shorter naps to do you move bedtime forward?
Have you kept a log of her sleep in case their is a pattern that we might be able to see?

no, just on here. I keep meaning to write things down but I haven't. :(:(
today was interesting...
she woke at 7:10am....nap from 1-2:30pm (sort of short) then bedtime was later than I would have liked.......7:30pm..BUT she went RIGHT to sleep withouta  peep!
so...i'm wondernig...shorter nap and longer A time? gosh I have no idea...I think Ijust need to keep her up til 7:30pm regardless b/c she doesn't seem to fall asleep until about 8ish anyway...so if I put her down at 6:30 or 7pm she just lays there talking til she's OT and then that might be why she's up til 8:30 or 9 sometimes....
i'm just gonna keep pluggin away and see what happens:)
got her weighed and measured today
30.4lbs and 35" tall:) she is BIG:)

Nicole - my guess is that you were having so much luck in the beginning with the 6:30 bed time because she was in a super bad OT cycle, and now that she is out of that it might be best to do like you said and go for the later bedtime. I think most of us with LO this age are doing about a 7:30 bedtime. Of course what is going on before bedtime and all that effects how they go down at night. I hope she gives you some more easy bedtimes.

I agree wtih PP -- I think early bedtime helped you get out of a big OT cycle, but then she needed to stretch again for bedtime.
