this is helpful.  But I have a question...what if your little one DOESN"T sleep in the car/stroller?  I have tried this (not in the past few weeks) but I end up having a severely overtired baby b/c he doesn't sleep if we go on a walk.  I went out today to a store that was 5 minutes away, right after he was done feeding (and he is up NO LONGER than 45 minutes or he is overtired) and needed to get groceries.  He ALMOST fell asleep in the carseat in the buggy, but didn't...and the rest of our day has paid for it!  So in that instance, by the time I got home (he'd been awake 1hr15min), do I attempt a nap (overtired and it would take forever), or keep him up for a bit and then feed him or what?  This is where it gets confusing to me,  Thanks!

He is 6 weeks old.  I know, still so little!  He used to sleep in the car well, but not so much anymore...last night he would NOT take a catnap, so went for a walk with him in the bjorn, and after 30 minutes, he finally conked out, so I know he CAN, but just doesn't

any tips?  Yesterday was a great day with naps...until...he had a dr appt at 3:30, and would not sleep in the carseat/car while we were out, so he turned into an overtired mess and WOULD not go to sleep after that.  Any tips for getting him to take that catnap?  He doesn't seem to take naps anywhere else besides crib now and that is soooo tough to get out...I know I should keep trying with him, in those things, but at this point, it is pretty pointless for me to go anywhere, since it means suffering the wrath of an overtired baby :(

I used to do wind down routine and pop lo in the car seat instead of the cot.  Do you think this might work for you?

I'm not sure...I swaddle LO as part of wind down routine so I don't know how that will work.  Usually in the car he will fuss now b/c of being tired, and he keeps spitting his paci out.  As soon as he does, he starts crying.  I pretty much drive with my arm reaching back trying to keep giving him his paci.  And I better not stop at stoplights either!

I am in the same boat as you at the mo but my DS is nearly 7 mths and about to start nursery in a few weeks! At home we get 2x2hr naps and v happy baby. Out and about it is very hit and miss and I get very stressed! Today went to my parents and thought I would go for walk at nap time PM and DS slept for 10 m ins! Then I ened up walking round and round and managed to get a 20 min nap v late and fretful baby til bedtime. Are we "over baby-whisperered"?! As my DH says and my friend describes it as "over sleep -trained".
Don't have an answer but sending support,

N--- I know, I wonder if I have "ruined" my baby, sometimes, with all this "sleep support".  Baby used to sleep in car and bouncy chair, now NO WHERE
