morning waking then falling back asleep
« on: September 17, 2009, 13:43:39 pm »
my son goes to bed around 7, and sleeps usually till around 6:15-6:30ish. This past week I've been letting him lay/talk/play in his crib while I grab my coffee and check e-mail. He's started falling back asleep (completely on his own) around 6:45ish and sleeping until 7:45.  Am I messing with his daytime or night time sleep by letting him fall back asleep? We are battling short naps and have been for over a month. I don't see any change in his day if I let him fall back asleep or if I don't, but just want to make sure I'm not making some kind of sleeping mistake :)

Finn surprised us this week by going back to sleep between 5 & 6 and sleeping until 7:15.  It didn't throw off our day.  We just pushed everything out.

I am not sure what the experts will say though hehe...for us it was unprecedented so no way were we going to wake him up hehe.
The tweaking never stops!

That happened to us one day this week too.  I was floored, as DS never goes back to sleep at that time.  We have also been battling short naps for a month, and I just wanted him to get that sleep!

I am glad to hear that I'm not the only one that lets their LO fall back asleep. His days are terrible and all over the place. We try and stick to a 3.5-4 EASY, but with short naps it makes the entire day one giant guessing game. I am so glad that we have our nights (and somtimes later mornings :))
