yeah something tells me that maybe it isnt that she is tired early before pm nap and actually she needs a touch longer...but dont want the OT monster!!

Do you use the same A time for all naps??

OT before bed as he had just had 2 nursery days on the trot, we did a 5.30pm bedtime last night and he woke at 4.15am, back down at 5.15 and up for the day at 6...yuck!

Got him down at 9.10am for his am nap and he's STILL sleeping, coming up for 2 hours!  ;D Our A's change throughout the day, morning is longest and middle is the pain in the bottom one that is never right and last A is long too by default I suppose.

Because we have got a good nap this morning I'm going to not clock watch too and see what happens...will let you know. I'll bet you anything he's tired after 2 hours!

YAY on your nice, long nap. I love it when that happens out of the blue.

at the moment we are trying the same, maybe 5 mins or so but he is nearly 11 months and so does 3.50-4 hours for the first A and then around 4 for the second but then I cut back to 3 before bed as he always has his shortest A time before bed. If I stretch it then I always get an EW.
Having said all this he has a cold now so I have been doing 3.45 max.

OMG....It has gone from bad to worse!!

Im beginning to question my shorter A times!! Morning nap was brill 1 hr 1/2 and afternoon kept A time at 2 hr 45 mins and yet again she screamed the place down...this is 3rd day of shortened A and third day with awful nap so wondering whether I was right with my first thought of longer A times... pm nap was 20 mins couldnt extend so awake from 2.24pm to 5.55 bedtime brought right forward...im still banking on a EW... she was waaaayyyyy OT!!!!

Ive been warned against it time and time again but something keeps niggleing me when I think back to just before she was ill...I had her doing 3 hr 30 A time for a bit before pm nap and she was settling much better...

then after illness teething crawling and hols it all went pear shaped and everyone I spoke to pointed to the A time being too long...it made sense and I thought it was the answer and A times reduced to 3 hr before pm nap and she had a few great naps and then it went dodgy again and so we all thought it needed shortening a bit more ...and here I am today with a mess!!!!!!!

i CANT cope with another day of this...she wont sleep in pushchair, I dont drive so im pretty much stuffed

Oh Annette.  Sorry you're having a rough go.  We've been having dodgy days and crap nights too.  But I think we might be getting somewhere.  I think you've got to trust yourself.  You're her mother after all.  If she was happy and you were having good nights and happy days, then you probably had it right before the illness.  I don't know though.  I'm no expert on my first go around and am struggling with it all myself.  Just thought you could use a HUG.

I've also noticed that when I have the timing right with naps, my DS goes down easily.  No fighting (UT and OT).  Just perfect little sleeper that we've trained him to be.  Smiles.
