How many naps should my 5 month old have and how long?
« on: October 21, 2009, 01:29:29 am »
My 5 month old wakes up at between 7 am and 830 am everyday and goes to bed around 730-8 at night, my husband and I wake her and feed her before we go to bed around 1100 pm. Then she sleeps until between 4 and 5 am when she is hungry. How many naps should she have and how long should they be?  ideas on how to get her to go longer at night with out needing a feeding?

Hi there!  Our LOs are about the same age!  :D

First of all, do you have your daughter on a routine?  If so, could you post what her days normally look like?

Secondly, is your daughter breastfed or formula fed?

I think knowing your answer to both of those questions will help a lot!

My DS is taking 3 naps a day currently.  Some days it's 2-2hour naps plus a catnap.  Other days it's closer to one 2 hour nap, one 1 hour nap, and then a catnap.

My little one is also taking 3 naps.  Usually it's 2 long ones and a short one.  However today, it was 3 "medium" ones :)
