One other thing I wanted to mention:  you can always fix a sleep problem.   You've laid a great foundation and so when you get back to a place where you're ready to emphasize independent sleep you'll find that she'll pick it back up pretty quickly as you'll be reminding her of a skill she's already learned rather than something totally new.  If you find yourself in a moment where you're torn between doing something good for your supply or good for independent sleep, don't feel guilt about choosing the thing that's good for your supply if that's what you want to do.  You can always fix a sleep issue down the road.  Always.  :-*

PEEK-A-BOO,
Your last two posts have been WONDERFUL! ;D Its good to know that I'm not going back to square 1, so to speak, with  doing something that will mess up the sleep training.  It wasn't easy to train and I would just hate to take all that time again with her upset along the way.  Easier the 2nd time around makes me feel better about it.  :)

Also, I tried your advice on the longer A and how to time the 2 Es and remove the walk in the stroller.  I did the second E in a bright active room, and cut out the walk.  She definitely seemed confused when she wanted to sleep on me and I didn't let her.  But within minutes she got over it and we spent about 20 min looking at books quietly in the nursery.  That's how long it took for her to start rubbing her eyes.  (I started the 2nd E earlier then you suggested because it seemed that her signs were telling me she was ready to eat again.  Probably because that's the timing she's been used to).  Anyway, once the eye rubs happened we did a combination of shh/pat and PUPD and it was touch and go.  Got close a few times, then she started crying again.  But after 30 min she was asleep in her crib on her own! ;D It's been an hour and she's still asleep! ;D ;D ;D I can't believe it but I actually took a shower and finished her dishes and laundry and packed her diaper bag for our lunch with my husband later today.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  The timing with the 3hr A was just slightly off, due to her resistance to sleep at first.  But I think only by 15 min, (3 hr 15 min  A).  So not bad!

I'm so very, very happy that we're already getting positive results.  Thank you so much!

Regarding the solids.  I skipped that section of the BW book because I was doing Baby Lead Weaning.  Then I gave my book to a friend who was about to train her baby to not use the pacifier anymore because there was a section in the book about that.  A few weeks later the weight issues came up and I switched to purees and I have not seem my friend yet to get the book back.  Thank you for posting the quantity goals I should be having for solids.  I do have a scale at home and I'm going to try it and keep an eye on her weight and see what happens. I'm also going to check with the lactation consultant for her suggestion for the solids quantity just to get confirmation I'm on the right track.  Again, I do really want to have breast milk be the primary food supply right now so I'm sure she'll have that goal in mind as well.

I know we're on the right track now so I will keep plugging along and check back in along the way to let you know how I'm doing.

THANKS AGAIN!
 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Its been a couple of days and I wanted to give another, likely final, update.

First and foremost, the EASY schedule for us with the additional feeds is working!   ;D That was my primary question and having gone at it a few days, I can safely say we are getting the hang of it (baby and I)!

Secondly, the weight issues...baby is definitely gaining weight!   ;D Yeah!  I have charted a small but steady gain over a few days.  Nothing crazy, but a half ounce a day it seems, which was the rate she was growing at before when she held firm on the 10% range.  So I think we're doing somethinig that is working for her and I'll just have to follow her lead on when to wean off the night feedings.  She's still waking up throughout the night, but sometimes she'll extend the hour to 2-3-and (gulp!) 4 hour stretches.  Those are only once a night, and certainly not every night yet.  But it's a sign that we will get there as they become more and more frequent and then longer and longer stretches again.

Lastly, the sleep issues.  Now that the first two and most important two things are working themselves out, I think I can start looking at working on the nap training.  I just look at her and although I'm keeping her on her reflux meds, I'm just thinking more and more she is growing out of the problems she was having as we're having no spitting up or screaming episodes anymore.  What a relief because that would save us from more insurance issues and Dr. check-ups!

I think for the sleep issues, so far it's going pretty well.  We've done 60-90 min naps for the most part.  I think that's great.  We did have a 3rd day relapse which was not good because DH still firmly believes that we should never wean her off bouncing her to sleep so of course when PUPD was taking longer to work he swooped in to do the bouncing.  But it didn't work either then he just handed an awake baby to me  >:( and we missed that nap completely.  That was not fun,  :( but we talked about it and finally he agreed to support me in the BW training since the benefits are for the long run.  I did have a hard time again this morning.  But honestly, while she was crying I read Tracy's Sleep Interview and went right to the 6-month Touchy baby and tried the technique she said.  Within 3 minutes my baby was asleep.   :o This stuff works!  No doubt about it!  So if I have any further issues I'll check the materials I have first, then maybe just go to the nap board for a new post, if needed.  Or the general sleep issues board if we're having trouble at night.

Thank you so much again!  How can I "show appreciation" like your side bar requests?   ??? I'd like to do it for all the women that posted and helped me along the way.  My trials are still going, and I am still very fatigued but I know I'm doing something that is working and she is gaining, so I think that's all I can ask for right now.  :)

Yay! You are one amazing mommy! I tip my hat off to you. So glad you got your DH to join you and be supportive while you try to keep up BW. It's much easier having a united front where you agree and support each other. Makes for less stress :)

So glad to hear she is gaining and that you have been able to get her to nap a bit. Every little bit helps and means it is heading in the right direction. You sure are a dedicated mom.

Hope everything keeps heading up in the right direction. Best of luck.

Thank you so much ladies!  I clicked the "Thank You" for all of you. ;D

It seems like every day naps are getting harder and harder.  :-\ I don't know why. ???  I'm trying to do the same thing each time.  I would think they'd be getting better but it's just not been the case.  We just wrapped up an hour of crying where I just gave up on trying for the nap.  :'( I try to do the same things, same technique, I don't know what's going on.  I think maybe the A time is not right in the morning.  She has been waking earlier and earlier each day.  She used to do an early nursing and go back to sleep.  First, for another 2 hours.  Then it was cut back to 90 min, then 60 min, then 20 min, now she's just awake after that nursing.  And it's the 5am hour nursing!  So it's SO early and I'm just so tired.  I'm trying to stick with the 3 hour A time but maybe it's just not right anymore in the morning and that's getting my whole day off?  She does rub her eyes after being up 90 min but when I tried a nap then she criec for 45 min no matter what I tried and I just gave up.  :(

So that's where I'm at now.  Do you think I should post this on the Nap board now?  She's still on the EAEASY schedule so I can get extra nursings in.  Also, the lactation consultant said to try and nurse her every time she wakes up so she is eating as much as possible.  So even that 5am wake time I am nursing her.   I thought I read that Tracy suggests keeping baby quiet and holding off that first morning feeding until the time you want them to start waking up so that eventually they'll start sleeping in until that time.  But I can't do that right now so I just don't know what, if anything, I can do.  If I could at least get the naps working then I could catch up on my sleep and make sure she's getting some catch up time, too.

Yes, I think if I were you I'd post on the nap board.  Since you've sorted out a way to get the feeds worked in to your day, I think you may need some one to focus just on the sleep times with you and the nap board may be the best spot for that.
