4-month-old with 25-45 minute naps
« on: December 12, 2009, 23:24:29 pm »
I know this question has been posted in many forms before, and I have read many of the posts.  What I want to know is this:  has anyone just decided to do nothing about these naps and just live through them?  I can't seem to get the hang of getting up to my daughter's room before she wakes up - seems she wakes up earlier and earlier each day and I always get to her room after she wakes up, only to have her see me and get up anyway - so it seems like sort of a lost cause.  If anyone has done this and the behavior has eventually gone away, how long has it taken, and has your child then become a good napper?

Hi there, there are people who live like this and their babies are seriously OT all the time, its quite sad to see really.

Can I suggest instead of trying to get to her room that perhaps you stay in her room after she falls asleep and watch her for acouple of naps and see what is waking her up?

Good idea, especially since she is a twin and maybe just hasn't learned to sleep thru her brother (though they have been in the same room since birth).  I will try this over Xmas.

The thing that's confusing is that occasionally she will nap really well, and my experience with my older daughter is that once they're overtired, they don't tend to sleep well.  So I can't figure out why, suddenly, she will get a good block of restorative daytime sleep.

Babies sure can be a mystery!
