Sabs-Does she talk or sign? I mean is she indicating what she wants and doesn't want? Even with yeses or nos or shaking her head or pushing things away? I found for awhile DD was picky when she was learning that she could ask for, refuse and basically let her opinions and desires be known. It was like a new-found independence thing. She began demanding "cheerios" for every meal. She still sometimes tries that tactic. I tried to not pay much attention to it and offered her what I offered her and let her get down when she refused things. She started eating more variety again. She's hit or miss now. The other thing, mashi and others told me, is that the amount of food they need goes down a bit and they really can live on air sometimes.

Sabs - what time is dinner and what time is her bedtime milk? I wonder if by seperating them a bit more she will stop holding out for milk?

Gradual reduction sounds like a good plan.

Yes, gradual reduction of the milk might help - but I would offer her milk with meals as well -- so a few ounces in the morning, a few at lunch and then some before bed.

I don't think there is anything wrong with her meal yesterday!  Not a lot to eat but she is a toddler!  Space out what she is eating over a week to look at the nutrition, not just one day and you will see it is much better than you think. And, she may have weeks where she eats nothing and weeks where she eats loads!

She is begining to sign a little more. When she doesn't want her meal, she will turn her head away and fuss.  BUT, if she sees her cheerios she will point to them! :-\

Since she still has a CN between 4:30 and 5pm, her dinner falls after it and bottle falls around 7pm.  I have tried pushing her bottle out but as soon as bath is done, she is expecting that bottle. She will fuss, wine, climb me until she gets her bottle. It is a struggle to entertain her a little longer.

I have been trying to offer her milk with her meals, but she utterly refuses to drink it from a sippy cup.  I have to admit, I haven't been forceful about it.  I have tried warming it and offering it cold but she will only take a sip and give me the funniest face.  Maybe I should try a differnt sippy cup for her milk.  She LOVES the playtex sippy cups.

It has been a long process for us with this too!  I finally got DS to a sippy cup for his morning milk (warm) but bed was still a bottle. And yes, as soon as he has his jammies on he comes running out of his bedroom to the kitchen where he knows his milk is waiting and attempts to climb up the counter to get it!  But, when getting his molars he started refusing his sippy and is back on bottles.  I still offer a cold sippy of milk with his lunch and some days he takes it, other days he doesn't. Bed is still bottles.  At 16.5 months ::)

Still bottles here as well at 15 months - for me it really is a case of picking my battles with him. So far he will not drink it from a cup either. Jacob won't drink milk with meals either, and won't have a small 3rd bottle either.

Honestly - these los seem to know their own minds over this sort of thing!!

I really think turning that bedtime bottle into a normal 8oz bottle will solve a lot of your issues really as she will be hungry for breakfast and won't hold out for it at tea time.

That makes me feel better. ;D She enjoys her bottles so much!  I don't want to take them away at the moment.  She enjoys sucking the bottle and her thumb. Thank God she only sucks her thumb at bedtime.

Last night, she had two potato wedges, 2 tiny pieces of chicken and carrot sticks for dinner.I only offered her 9ozs before bed and she seemed content.  This morning she drank 7ozs of milk and my mom told me she had a good portion of a bagel with yogurt for breakfast.  We shall see how the remainder of the day goes.
