I'm still breastfeeding my 23 month old son and I have a 3.5 month old daughter.  I'm finding that I have plenty of milk for everyone, but at night the flow is just too much for her to handle and she's gagging.  It's a bit hard to settle her afterwards.  Is there anything I can do or take to reduce the let down?  Pumping beforehand doesn't really work because I'm sleeping and when I pump it takes awhile for the let down to come.

Just wondering if other moms have had the same issue.

Well, when my guy started going further between feeds at night I would wake up terribly engorged -- I would keep a towel by my bedside and self express some.  Total waste, I know!  But it worked.  Good luck!  BF two babies 20 months apart... I'm in awe!!  ;)

I'm not engorged enough to self express though, but that's great advice for when she starts actually sleeping for longer :)  It takes awhile for her to trigger the let down when she feeds, but when she does it just gushes out!  Poor little thing :(

Thanks for the awe.  I didn't know what to expect, but it's worked out pretty well.  My DS only gets milk in the morning and occasionally in the afternoon if he's sick :)
