pressure through jolts question
« on: April 17, 2010, 17:46:32 pm »
so i used pttj with 13 week old with success yesterday to extend the naps and early wake up.  My concern is that i did the same with #1 and it ended up being a prop.  She couldnt transition without and I ended up taking naps with her so I could just leave my hand on her.  I dont want this happening again.  How do you stop them from needed the pressure to stay asleep????

Hi...I don't have an answer for you I'm afraid....just curious as to how you think it became a prop?

Have you tried W2S?  :)

hi, at 13 weeks it doesnt become a prop, at 13 months it can though :) if you are concerned about it then i would gradually lessen the pressure each time

Ditto to what Jo said :)  A good litmus test is to try a nap every couple of weeks or so to see if he still needs the help (some LOs do...mine needing httj until 5.5 months).  Naps usually get better ~6-7 months, so if he's still needing the httj for every nap by then, you might doing less and less to see if it's a prop issue.

Good luck!  Enjoy the you time with those long naps! :D
