A time tweak again already or more nap extension?
« on: February 19, 2010, 14:55:44 pm »
My little one Keaton is 5 months old now, thought things were sorted for a few days with two naps of at least 1hr 20mins and a catnap (got there by tweaking A times and re-settling if he woke early) after three good days we have had two more of him waking after 40 minutes from his second nap and me being unable to settle him after 15 minutes he seems ok in himself for an hour or so but is getting crankier and crankier. I am pulling his catnap forward and putting him to bed early until I can get this sorted - what does anyone think is this a nap issue or a twaek needed to A times again already?

three days ago looked like this

E - 7
A - 7.10
S - 9.15
E - 11
A - 11.10
S - 1.10
A - 2.30
E - 3.00
A - 3.10
S - 4.45
A - 5.15
E - 6.20
A - 6.50
S - 7-7.30

And yesterday (and today so far are like this)

E - 7
A - 7.10
S - 9.15
A - 10.45
E - 11.00
A - 11.10
S - 1.00
A - 1.40
E - 3.00
S - 4.00
A - 4.30
E - 6.00
S - 6.30

I'm not even sure if the second nap is UT or OT as I'm trying to follow his cues not the clock and when I'm putting him down he doesn't seem to be under or over tiered.

Oh and just an update after being un-able to re-settle him today he quickly got very grump so I fed his half an hour early as he seemed hungry and then took him back upstairs, we had ten quiet minutes cuddling and looking out of windows etc and I managed to settle him again and he's now been asleep for over an hour - does this help anyone work out what is going on??

He probably got a bit OT with the A time extension - some kids do that.

I would try cutting your A times back by just 10 ins or so and see if that settles things down a bit.
