Advice for a 15.5 month old
« on: February 23, 2010, 12:08:47 pm »
I think I have to reduce little Madi's daytime sleep but am a little scared as she has been waking up between 6:20-6:30am.  She normally goes back to sleep for a little snooze but the majority of the time she is talking and making funny noises.  She overall gets about 13.5-14 hours of sleep.

Here is a typical day
wake 7am
nap 12-2:30/2:50pm
bed 7:30pm

Should I consistently let her sleep 2.5 hours in the day? Do I push out her morning A? or should I try pushing out her bedtime? She doesn't refuse bedtime!

I have tried to reduce her nap to 2hours and boy was she every cranky and irritable!
thanks

I'd say that as long as she's a happy kid and not screaming down the house, she's beginning to make the start of a transition for you by herself. If a shorter nap is making her UNhappy, I'd probably leave it for now but keep an eye out for any further changes. :)

In other words, this doesn't sound "broken" enough to "fix" yet. ;D

I would be in agreement she is doing a great sleep total.

Instead of knocking 30m off tr 15m for a couple of days and see what happens.  She sounds happy and content.

Good luck
