Its only 5.30!
« on: March 15, 2010, 13:12:47 pm »
Lo has decided over last couple of months that its a good idea 2 wake at 5.30am Mummy disagrees :(
His routine was
 Wake 6.30
Nap 12.30-2.30
Bed 7.15
I have tried cutting nap down ive tried making bedtime l8r and earlier nothing is working I can accept 6am wake ups but not this early
Any1 else got any ideas?

I totally agree that 5.30 is too early!
What is your LO's room like? do you use a black out blind? with DS, he was wide awake as soon as he saw any hint of daylight! we got a blackout blind and it did the trick, so we got one from the start with DD!

I think that 6hrs first A time is way too long for 14 months. I would try bringing his nap earlier - to 5.5hrs A time max, maybe even 5hrs - and letting him sleep as long as he wants.

Well seems like we are on track for a good day Ds slept from 7.30 last nite till 7am this morning :) Dont know if it was because of not having tv yest or not but its switched off again 2day
Daytime naps were hard 2 work out if i shortened A time Morning nap was 11.30 he wouldnt go earlier and he would only sleep an hour then pm 5ish but he wouldnt go down at 7pm Need 2 wait till at least 12.15 b4 putting him down as he poos Routine was working with A time but lost it there He has been teething and got his mmr and everytime he gets his jags he ends up wa a cold
Maybe its just been that It felt gr8 sleeping in Dh had a bit of a rush 4 work lol

Another day without tv and lo slept 7.15-6.15 last nite :) with a 2 hr nap
2day he has napped again 4 2hrs so hopefully tv has been the problem If it hadnt worked my only other idea was 11 am lunch 2 shorten a time then earlier nap like you said Anna 2 see if he would take a longer nap

dang for us... DS doesn't even get TV time except the last week because he was so ill, he didn't have any energy to play at all!!!  If TV was a problem for your DS, then it's too much stimulation.  Or shall I add TV time? LOL
