How long has his routine looked like that for? With the 1hr naps and 2hrs A time?

Do you think the dummy may be a prop?

Or do you think hunger is a possibility still as 12 hrs with no feed is a long time for a LO at this age (unless you are doing a DF and I didn't realise).

Not much that can be done about the pre-schooler though  ;). I dread to think what time my toddler will wake my new baby in a few weeks time  ::).

hi thanks for reply felt a bit on my own for a while there lol!
well i guess he has been in this routine for about a month or so, we were doing the dream feedd at 10-10.30 but didnt seem to make a difference so we stopped it. Dummy could be a prop we are thinking about cutting it out during the day and just using at night? also we are thinking about introducing the df again as we thought the same about the hunger.
also thinking about cutting out lunch solid until 6 months?
desperate to get some sleep!!!

Why don't you try a feed at 2am and see if that helps at all? If it does then perhaps try the DF again - or just accept that one night feed is better than being up every few hours at night.

I do think some of the wakings might be OT as well, especially if there are days when he doesn't have the third nap.

I would perhaps try adding 15 mins to the morning A time and see if that improves the length of the first nap, and then we can try and improve the second after that. Often it is just a question of timing really.

Well the naps and daytime routine are not too bad really - 2 decent long naps with roughly 2hrs A time by the look of it  :).

I think your issue might be the length of the A time after the CN - how long do you usually aim for after the CN?

Difficulty settling, NWs and a EW seem like OT before bed really.

Other issue to consider is if your LO is dummy dependent though  :-\.

Sorry for my late reply now - I've had a bad work week this week  >:( :-*

hi well day 1 today of no dummy, following the routine in book for making changes. have had success with pu/pd for morning nap took 30 mins first time without dummy, slept for 1hr 40 mins!! second nap took 40 mins without dummy, slept for 1hr 20 mins, bedtime took 1hr but only just finished so cant say how long, poor little thing i feel for him but i know its the best thing for everyone to lose the dummy, i am right in using pu/pd to break the dummy habit am i???? boy is it hard work, back ache and lots of gritting my teeth lol. so today has gone like this so far
wake at 7am
E-7.10, breakfast at 8.20
a-
s-9 20 started to pu/pd at 8.50 first time without dummy

E-11-lunch at 12.30
A-
S-put down at 1 sleep by 1.40 with pu/pd and no dummy

E-3pm dinner at 4.30pm
A-
S-catnap 20 mins 5.40

E-6.45pm
a-bath 7.15
S-start pu/pd no dummy at 7.30 sleep by 8.30ish

just wondering if to do the df as it may disturb him and will have to go through the whole process again or am i just being selfish lol

fingers crossed tonight goes ok it is one of the most trying things i have ever done!!
