Sorry for the slow reply - I have been having a bad work week  >:(.

A bad night can lead to a bad day at this sort of age if they have lost lots of sleep. I never really worked out how to 'fix' it though as J's cues were too unreliable anyway so would usually just do the same A as normal and hope for the best or I would put him down 15 mins early. That is still pretty much what I do now as well  :).

And you will get random bad nights at this age as well - actually you will get them through until 18 mths ish. Teething is just dreadful for some LO's.

Hope last night and today were a little better  :-* :-*

oh no! lol i guess i will have to deal somehow then..its just so hard b/c you know how she gets in these cycles of hers! well we are officially in one!
she was up at 4:30 am i struggled and struggled to get her to sleep! i got two 30 min "sleep periods" until i finally just got her up at 6:30...

then of course OT naps all day. the longest one was 1 hour and that was 3rd nap with me! im going nuts!!! we finally were getting somewhere and now we are all messed up...omg have mercy lol
i dont know how to get her on track b/c her naps and sleep are so intertwined for her that i know the night will stink and then the day is all haywire.

im sorry you are having a rough work week ): dont they know you need to be happy for the baby?! lol i hope it gets better! ((hugs))

The one thing I always say to myself is the all these cycles end - they always always do. OT loops end, teeth cut and the chaos stops. Took me a while to really believe that though.

J is doing odd things to me this week as well but I think it is due to the time change - but hey - he will sort himself out.

((hugs)) to you both  :-* :-*

5 day weekend for me now anyway - so booo to work for now!!

well thats a wonderful weekend lol
i know it will end eventually but its in the meantime that i want to scream and scream! we are having ANOTHER MISERABLE day! her first nap i p/d at the right time and then she was crying after 2 mins...i sent her father in to pat her and shes crying and crying (i was doing dishes) i shut the water off and i hear her just screaming hysterically so i ran in and guess what he's doing? holding her upright in his arms and trying to "help" her by holding down her arms and legs to his body! im like WTF are you doing?!?!?! he was like idk we used to hold down her arms and legs in the crib to help her (he's reffering to HTTJ like 3 months ago!) wow...proves how much he helps me with all of our naps and sleep period...so she was up an extra 15 mins. i took over and sang her twinkle twinkle real quick then put her down and patted her and she went right to sleep. was that so hard?!?!? ahhhhhhhh i could kill him lol i guess at least he was willing to try and help thats an improvement from the norm..
so of course her nap was OT...then i p/d 2hrs after she woke up and for some reason shes in the crib talking to herself...and screeching(playfully) and has been doing this for 25 mins now..i dont even have the energy to deal with this! maybe if i keep praying she will just sleep!! its so funny i feel like every few hours i pray for patience and understanding. whatever gets you through the day right? well once we are out of this cycle i hope those A times that worked before will continue to work and we can have a real easy at least for a while!

just so you know we are still in the OT cycle....but yesterday i just kind of left her in the swing praying she would just sleep...of course she didnt but she was arching her back and fussing at the 3hr mark and i p/d and she slept for 1.5hrs! but then she fought her second nap like crazy and only slept for 30 mins and of course our night was hell...but do you think maybe 3 hrs for her first A would work for her? she has been resisiting naps all over the place! i just finally got her to nap at the 3hr 15min mark...idk how this nap will go...but shes not resisiting by crying shes just talking to herself and acting like shes UT but she cant be! not at 3 hrs!

what do you think? if she naps good this morning maybe i will try like a 3hr fist A then a 2.45 second A? then bed at 6:30 maybe? idk i feel like right now shes changeing so fast with everything i think shes going through some major developmental stuff! shes practically sitting up and almost crawling and moving around everywhere! shes going potty every 1-2 hrs now instead of every 30 mins or so! things are just crazy right now!

i noticed too that she seems to be fighting independent sleep again...she has been needing me to pat her a bit before she will sleep...i dont pat her to sleep though but idk whats going on there...

Developmental stages can cause a lot of sleep issues - you are right. They don't want to sleep as they are too busy thinking and trying to do  :).

3hrs sounds fine for an A time for a 6 hrs old - higher than average but not silly high. My DS was doing the same by then.

So if you think it might be then I think it could be as well  :).
