How does early morning feed fit into EASY
« on: June 09, 2010, 14:34:07 pm »
DS almost 4 months old sleeps from roughly 7-7.  Is fed at 6:30pm than has a dream feed at 10.  Is starting to wake at around 5 for his night feed.  What to do when he is up 2 hours later?  He still eats every 3-31/2 hours during the day.  Should I feed him when he wakes up even though he is not really hungry, he will still eat, just not as eagerly or as much.  Or do I wait the 3- 31/2 hours till he is hungry?

If my DD wakes early I try to either hold her off until morning, and if that isn't possible I try to offer only 1 side (we BF) to see if that will tide her over until 7. Then she generally takes a full feed and we are on with the day.

I'm totally jealous of your 7-7! Well done!

As pp has mentioned, if my lo used to wake up during the night for a feed, but close to her wake up time in the morning, I would just let her drink from one breast for like a minute after my let down. Often times, that's all she needs and she goes back to sleep. however, if she resists and mews after I unlatch her, I keep her on for another xx amount of time.
