How much milk at 1 year? Goats milk vs. Cows milk?
« on: June 23, 2010, 12:04:02 pm »
Hello!  I've been reading so much great advice on here and just wanted to say thanks in advance!
We are weaning my daughter Vera off the breast at one year and unsure how much formula/milk she should be having in a bottle now.
She generally breastfeeds (or bottlefeeds if I'm at work) after she wakes in the morning, after her morning nap and afternoon nap, and has one bottle in evening.
Now that we are starting to wean her, what do you recommend in terms of quantity?
Right now she eats anywhere from 3-6 oz at every breast/bottlefeeding time.

Also, do you recommend cows milk or goats milk?  I know there is a lot of controversy around it.  I'd be happy to get some opinions.
Thanks so much!

i am listening in as DH and i drink goats milk but we give DS cows. DH keeps saying we should switch DS to goat but i have not done so as don't really know enough about whether it is ok for lo's.
re milk - Henry was on 2 bottles at 1. About 7oz am and pm but he also had milk in cereal, cheese and yoghurt daily.
