I gave gripe water this morning and will before each feeding. Do you recommend through the dispenser syringe or in bottle of water?  At what age will this gas mostly not be an issue?

Oh I don't know what's best, I always used a syringe and that seemed to work fine. I guess they all go at their own pace with regards to learning to deal with gas, but I expect it would be starting to get better by about 8-9 weeks? Some of them have tummy trouble for much longer.

The only comment is to keep awake times really short. I know that sometimes it is unavoidable, but try to have him awake for no more than about 1hr15mins.

I agree with Anna! I gave gripe water in a syringe---it never took as much as they recommended. I also gave Gaviscon after the 2AM feeding as my LO's gas got really bad between 5-7 AM.

Does your DS have reflux? We had bad reflux here and another tip I did was to hold her upright for 20 min after a feed (including the night feeds). I also found that the cluster feed worked wonders just like Anna said. good luck.
