Why does DD sleep better at grandparents??
« on: July 26, 2010, 13:33:18 pm »
Hi,

DD is 16 months and is sleep trained, in theory; she still has NWs, especially when teething, sick, hot weather etc.

Thing is she seems to sleep better when we leave her with my or DH's parents for the night! On Sat night she slept through from 8pm to 7am. She hasn't done this for me in ages!! Its really quite frustrating. Even when the NWs are very brief, its still a breakin my sleep so I wake up tired. after 16 months, how much more am I going to have to endure?! Could there be any reason she sleeps better there? Anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks

My mother also used to have my DS and she would "sleep through the night". Turns out she was sleeping either in the cot in their room or in their bed. LOL

Alex has always slept better at MILs than he does here. Used to drive me mad, especially the smugness (ykwim!) but you know what? It means I can send the kids there for sleepovers and have a night out with dh guilt free, not worrying about whether the grandparents will have to deal with NWs!  ;D

Yes I did think of that... Would she really be so devious? Already!! My mum does give her a cuddle if she wakes up too, but maybe knowing I'm not there she's less likely to wake up? I don't know whether to be flattered or annoyed!  ;D
