Diaper Change Waking Us Up
« on: July 27, 2010, 01:42:49 am »
Hello,
So my 5 mo has been STTN (goes to bed at 7:30, DF at 11 then wakes at 7:30) on and off for a few weeks now but he wets the bed about once or twice a week.  Once he wakes up for this and we get all changed and back to bed he will doze for about 20 mins and then wake up again for about 1.5 to 2 hours.  So how do you handle these night time changes...any tips?  Should I start adding a diaper change at his DF?  I know you aren't suppose too unless he is soaked, but maybe this would help?   Also he seems to have really full diapers when he does STTN.  We have him in the special 12 hour dry super expensive diapers in a size 4 thinking they will absorb more if they are a bigger size (he wears size 2 during the day).   Any tips or does anyone else seem to have this problem?  Hope this is the right board for this question.

TIA - Emily

We started putting a pull up over DS's diaper at nighttime -someone on here gave us the idea:)  That way if it leaks through the pull-up catches it, otherwise we can re-use the pull-up another night.  We haven't had any leaks since we started this and the pull-ups are super easy to fit over the diaper.

I've heard of a few different ideas.

*Double diapering, no need for pull-ups. Poke holes in the first diaper so excess goes through to the second.
*Diaper liners--they sell some, or you can use sanitary pads or you can use some type of absorbent fabric
*Use the next size up (we did this a bunch of times...def. absorbed more and helped a ton)
