7 week old not sleeping through night

Our baby is 7 weeks old, 8 weeks on Sunday.  We have been doing the EASY routine for 4 weeks now.  Baby is doing great during the day, feeding every 2 and a half to 3 hours, sleeping no more then an hour and a half, we do the last feed at around 8, then a dream feed just before 11, and baby wakes up between 1:30 and 2, and has a hard time going back down.  Usually takes me over an hour to get him back down, then he wakes up every hour after that until the morning.  When he wakes up, I don't feed him until it's been 3 hours, so he'll go back down with no food.  I don't understand what's going wrong.?  Please help frustrated Mom.

Hmmm, have you tried feeding when he wakes up at 1:30? It sounds like he could be hungry. I would try feeding him and see if it makes any difference. It's possible he's going through the 6 week growth spurt.

I agree with pp, it's not uncommon to have 1 night feeding at this age--wasn't for me anyways. My DD had a time where she would be awake for a good hour (for no reason--aaccording to me ) and got over it.
I think it was around the 10 week mark where she sort of settled into a better night sleep..

i forgot to mention that i do feed him at the 1:30 mark, and feed again at the 4 or 5 mark, but not in between when he's waking up.  so this could possibly be a growth spurt?  Should I be feeding every 2 hours then.  (formula fed, milk did not come in)
