Help! I go back to work in less than a week and now my nights are no fun.  Recently I started changing my 13mo's naps more according to how daycare wants it, and I'm wondering if this could be causing NW's or something else.
He day used to be:
A- 7:00a
S-10 for 1.5hrs (3hrs A)
A-11:30a
S-3 or 4 for about 1-1.5hrs (3.5-4hrs A)
Bed - 7:00p
Sleeping through usually until 6am, then waking (we think due to getting cold in am., finding plug, and resettling well)

Now' we're doing:
A- 6:45a (on a good day)
S - 9:45-10 for .5 or .75 hr (3.25hrs A)
A-10:30a
S-1:30p for 2.5-3 hrs(3hrs A)
B-7:30p
With usually 3-4 NW's. I go in, re-plug him and he resettles asap.  Sometimes in the wee morning (5:45 & on) he has a tough time resettling, I give him his milk, and leave him in his crib until 6:45

So my question is - with schedule tweaking are NW's a common thing to happen?  He's still getting a good amount of total day/night sleep.  I'm not sure if he's getting anymore teeth.  But it's tiring to go in there, replug him and he falls over he's so tired.
Would a nighlite & a crib full of plugs work so he could find one himself? Or is any light going to mess him up?

Thanks!

Have you tried medicating to see if it helps with the nwings? At least even if it does not help you will know it is not discomfort of some sort? I cannot really see anything wrong with the routine although it may be better to stick with 45 mins in the am if he used to do 1.5 as cutting to half an hour may be causing some OT.

yesterday wasn't ideal with his napping, had a horrible prior night so everything was kind of messed up.

He went to bed at 815p (later than normal), I did give him advil.
Woke at 1030p - I just plugged him & he fell over
Then woke at 530a(I gave water, plug), 550a(plug, laid down), 610a(plug, laid down, rubbed back), and is still sleeping now (650a)

Could hunger wake them up in the early morning?  Normally he eats a decent supper & I don't find there's time for a snack before bed.

When he went to bed last night he was crying as soon as I left the room (even though I left and he was 'sleeping'), so we played that PD, pat on back, soothe game for about 15 minutes.  Could he just be going through some separation anxiety?  He has been going to daycare for the past 2 weeks 1-2hrs a day.

It sounds like he's a bit OT, trying to sleep but can't, either discomfort or OT SA which is the worst kind.  Can you keep to an earlier bedtime when he's like this?  I realize sometimes it is out of our control but I think it would help keep your OT at bay while teething.  A too long day doesn't ever help really.
The tweaking never stops!

So last night was better!
He napped good all day and went to bed at 7:05pm.
Didn't hear a peep from him until 5:20am - I just gave him some water & his plug.  He might've been cold since it's been getting cooler at night here now.
I had to wake him up at 6:40a to get ready for his first day at daycare.

So I'm not sure if this wee morning is just b/c he's cold, thirsty, but at what point do I consider doing a wake 2 sleep to get past this 5:30?
