Could W2S work with a 14 Mo old?
« on: September 18, 2010, 20:53:56 pm »
Hi there,
My lo is 14 mo, and for the past little while we have been having very brief early wakings - anywhere from 5-6.
Our day is normally:
A 6:45a
S 9:30/10:00 for short 20-30min nap (we wake him)
A 10/10:20ish
S 1pm for usually 2-2.5hrs
A 3/330pm
S 7pm

Our first week of daycare he didn't sleep at all in the mornings and only had the pm nap - and our nights were amazing!  7a-645p with no NW!
Now he's going for a very short morning nap & we're back to him waking up briefly from 5-6am.  I go in, plug him, maybe give him water and he goes back to sleep for another 45 min or so.

So - at his age, should I just try to cut out that morning nap all together? Or try to briefly wake him say at 4am, hoping he'll learn to get past this 5-6am wake up?

It doesn't look like his teeth are bugging him, but he does have a bit of a cold & we are doing meds/crib up/humidifer, etc.

Thanks!

Maybe he's getting ready to go to one nap.  EWs can be a sign of that.
