Wow, this is terrible.

Everyone is cutting down the AM nap or moving it later. She will have none of it. If I cut short AM nap, she won't settle for PM nap anyway, no matter when I start it (A time of 3 hrs has same result as A of 5 hrs). If I move AM nap, it isn't any longer, it's just later, and she still won't settle for PM nap.  If I put her down for PM nap, she cries and she's angry when I leave the room. That lasts about 10-15 minutes off and on. It's not really a steady cry that would make me feel like leaving is a CIO. But I HAVE to leave her to settle herself, because she absolutely won't if I'm in the room. I have to wake her from the afternoon nap, because she'd sleep another 1.5 hrs if I let her. But then I'd never get her to bed.

She wants this:

Up at 6:30 AM
Back to sleep (no fuss!) at 9:30 AM, will sleep to 11 or 12 depending on the day or if I let her.
Second nap at 3-ish, if I can get her to go for it. I let her cry, see reason above.
Can't let her sleep past 4, or I won't get her to bed by 7.
Bed at 7.

How can I get her on a right track? I tried the pushing back her AM nap to later and later, 3 days at a time, but I ended up with OT night wakings because she wouldn't sleep long enough or take the PM nap.

Do it the way you're doing it!!!! Let her do a longer nap first thing and a shorter nap later. Gradually cut the afternoon nap to preserve bedtime and as you do so VERY slowly push the morning nap later and later. If you push it too fast, she'll get OT and won't nap long enough. But if you do it gradually....the morning nap can eventually become the one mid-day nap and you can cut out the afternoon catnap. It's fine to do it this way!!!

Whew...was out of town, and she stayed with her grandparents for a week. She's really OT now, so I've got to get her sleep caught up. I'll try the conversion the way she wants to do it then.

Let us know how you get on. There is def. a LOAD of tweaking involved as the 2 to 1 ends up being pretty individualized and they all need something a little different to make it work. :)
