Someone out there ease help!'22month old sleep issues
« on: October 28, 2010, 01:10:21 am »
My DS finally started sleeping independently last April. Sleeps like a champ (with a paci).

A week ago he started refusing naps and taking an hour or more of talking and screaming for me while falling asleep. I am due with number two in 6 weeks.... What happened to my wonderful sleeper???

Wake 645/730
Nap 1-300 (was 330 but afraid too much sleep)
Bed 800 (was 730 but jumping in crib like crazy!)

I'm fearful it's separation anxiety. He had similar issues around 12 months where up for 2 hrs in the middle of the night then once home for Xmas break, all gone).

Should I go back to GW? Currently I sit in a chair in his room and he eventually settles...

Help!
Mary

Hmm... sounds like my 20 month old... we had a bout of illness and now the night waking and early wakings are back.  The EW scare me the most especially with the time change coming.  BUT... could it be teething?  Have you tried pain meds at all at night?  Or, cold?  DS tends to wake up when cold and the temps have dropped here for sure.

I'm afraid to try meds bc last time it wound him up more! No chewing or anything to make me suspect molars yet...

I think Motrin can make a babe hyper, Tylonal might be better if you want to try it.  My little dude never chews anything but if he opens his mouth you can so see the irritation and it lasts for MONTHS!  I never know what it is.

Well, hoping for some advise then.  Something has to be going on at this age -- sort of like 12 months but a year later and double frustrating (triple for you since your LO is due soon, congrats by the way!!)
