Hiya,
Have you tried doing a long a a short nap? I know we were struggling with DS with the two naps too and realised that if we did one very short nap (catnap, 30min) and one proper nap he would cope ok, be tired enough to sleep but not OT.
We then had to move to: day 1 -1 CN, 1 nap; day 2 - 1 nap, day 3 - 2 CN (iykwim)
But I definately noticed that just one nap, at 10 months he would end up OT, does that not happen to your LO?
Is this going to turn into a problem if I let her feed right before her big nap?
Sometimes with the different A times and feeding routines you might end up feeding just before a nap. That in itself is not a problem, you just need to make sure your LO is not falling asleep on the breast and getting used to falling asleep like that. If you can burp her and put her down still awake, I don;t see a problem with the feed being before naptime..
What if she wants to drop to 3feeds? I am so nervous to drop any feed at this point, but it just seems like consolidating might be what she wants.
The WHO suggests that babies should get 4 milk feeds until the age of one. On that basis the advice, if you don't think your LO is taking enough at each feed at this stage would be to try and reduce the amount of solids a bit so that your LO is still getting 4 proper BFs.
Having said that... Both mine moved to 3 feeds a day around 10 months and were happy like that. It just worked better for us. DS for example started being funny about the 11am feed but would usually feed ok in the afternoon. DD was more like your LO, not interested in either feed (only really feeding well the wake up and BT feeds).
Moving to 3 feeds a day really helped.
