Question about daysleep for 4month-old
« on: December 11, 2010, 08:02:07 am »
Hi ladies,

Just a quick question as I'm a little confused about the required amount of daysleep for a 4 month old (DS will be 18 weeks next Monday).
Do I let him have 3 long naps a day (1H45min seems to be his average if I let him sleep as long as he wants to) or 2 long naps + 1 CN?
He seems to have better nights with a deeper sleep on 2 long naps + 1CN but not sure if this will be too little daysleep?

He is currently on a 3,5H EASY but we're transitioning to a 4H EASY at the moment, so routine is a bit messed up some days where he will have EASAE sometimes. I just need to know what to work towards, kwim?

Thanks in advance!

If you're doing a 3.5 EASY then 3 long naps is okay (as long as it doesn't affect nights) but you want to be working towards 2 long naps and one catnap no longer than 45 min. That's what you do with a 4 hr routine. :)   Don't worry about having some messed up days while you transition, it's just all part of the package.

Thanks!  :-* I have lost Tracy's books along the way  ::) and you'd think I'd remember from when DD was a baby but she was a 45min napper!
