DD is a week short of 9 months and I think we are just at the very beginning of the 2:1 transition.Looks like she is more of a early waker rather than refusing naps (only done this 2/3 times and managed to get CNs in). THink we are also guilty of letting her catch up night sleep with longer naps. Her nights have gone from a consistent 11.5-12 down to 10.5-11
Seems very happy at bedtime but later BT doesn't result in later WU- I think her BT is pretty much 'fixed'.
Anyway... just wanted someone to check my 'plan' with.
previous EASY
0645/7WU
10-11.30 nap
14.30-1600 nap
1900/1915 asleep for night
last week or 2
WU 0520/0550
0920/0930-11 nap
1415-1545 nap
1900/1910 asleep
A times are usually 3.5hr/3.25hr/3.5 hr over the day
I plan to shorten the first nap to 1 hr, and move second nap earlier by half hour.
Questions:
should I shorten her first A time if am going to wake her at 1 hr?
given that her daytime sleep needs have been 3hrs for last 2.5 months, should I be reducing total DT sleep to 2.5 hrs ie keeping second nap at 1.5 hrs or letting her sleep longer if she wants?
what length of day should I aim for- her nights are now at best 11 hours- how long might it take (if ever) for her to add to her nights sleep again?
Am nervous about early BT as it has only rarely led to a longer night rather than even earlier wake up! What happens is WU just keeps getting earlier-or will it stabilise?!!?
Thanks!
Ruth
