DD is just over 4 months and she can roll from her back to her tummy but not back yet - she can't roll in the cot only on the floor. When is it recommended that children are ok to sleep on their tummy?

Agree with PP. I would always put DS down on his back, but around 6 months he would roll over onto his belly and I'd find him like that. At the beginning I'd roll him back, but then he'd just roll himself back over again. ::) My doctor said it was ok to leave him at that point.

Hi there, just wanted to add -  both of mine slept on their tummies as soon as they could roll over. It helped DD cut out the light so she actually slept better once she started to roll over. DS will also sleep on his front, though we have all sorts of fun and games with him.
In short, I wouldn't worry and just give them lots of time on their fronts during the day then they can learn to roll front to back and push themselves up.

Wanted to chime in that our pedi said once they can get there, it's safe for the to be there.  :)  Just keep extra blankets, stuffies out of the crib.

...its what you do when you get back up.
