3 months could not get longer nap -- please help
« on: March 03, 2011, 02:50:09 am »
My lo is 3 months old. I started sleep train (pat/shu) 5 days ago. He had a lot improvement. Usually he woke up 4-5 times during the night, now he only woke up once. However, his nap was still unstable. Half time he can sleep 1.5 hour by himself, half time he woke up at 45 mins and I usually enter his room to pat/shu him back to sleep. I already tried w2s and hold through the jolts, however, both of them did not work for my lo. Anyone can give me some suggestion? Thank you so much!!!@.@
Here is his E.A.SY:
Wake 6:30
E 7:15
S 8:05-9:45 (wake at 8:50 pat/shu 10 mins)
E 11:15
S 1:30-1:45 (wake at 2:30 pat/shu 10 mins)
E 2:00
S 3:15-5:00
E 5:00
S 6:45 -7:20 (catch nap)
Sleep at 9:00pm and wake up at 6:15am.  DF + Feed at 2:00am

If he's either sleeping 1.5 hour naps or you're able to shush/pat him back to sleep after 45 mins then it sounds like you're on the right track.  Hopefully after a while he'll stop needing you to shush/pat him back to sleep during some of those naps but right now I'd say keep doing what you're doing.

Thanks, Karen. Now I know I am in the right track. I will try to play shuuuuu(my husband recorded his sound) at 40 mins and see how it works.
