Nap length issue.
« on: March 10, 2011, 02:27:01 am »
HI,

My son is about 4 and a half months old.  He has been on the EASY routine since about 2 months.  We have recently transitioned him to a 4 hour Easy.  I know naps should be at least 1.5 - 2 hours.  My question is:  If he wakes up after an hour and a half do I get him up and keep him up for two and a half hours to keep with the 4 hour routine?  Do I do pick up put down to extend the nap to 2 hours?   Or do I keep him up for 2 hours and then put him back down for another nap earlier then I normally would on a 4 hour routine??

I've looked everywhere in the book but I can't find an answer.  Any feedback would be great!

Thanks

Hiya,

The 4 hours refers to time between E, so you have to decide how to work your A times around that. If your LO is doing 1hr 30 naps that is fine - if he's waking up happy and able to stay up for long enough  :)

Eg:

E - 7.00am
A - 7.00am - 9.00am
S - 9.00am - 10.30am

E - 11.00am
A - 10.30am - 1.00pm
S - 1.00pm - 2.30pm

E - 3.00pm

and so on...

HTH!
