OMG Jackie I could totally write your post for you!!

I dealt with short naps with DS1 and tried like mad to correct them (which never happened) so I learned to accept them...but the difference between DS1 and DD is that DD is absolutely MISERABLE after a short nap!!  I've tried to extend but nothing seems to work but then again I certainly don't have the time to spend on shh/pat right now...of course since it takes 3 hours to finally get her off to sleep at night I spend enough time there ::)  Anyhow, just wanted to let you now you are NOT alone :-* :-* :-*  And I am soaking up the advice :D

Thanks ladies!
Sarah - if it loses my pregnancy weight she can have 45 min naps for as long as she likes ;) however I think it may take a bit more than that as I have rather a lot left to lose... ::) As far as I know she doesn't have any medical issues - the newborn windy stage seems to have pretty much passed and she appears to have started sleeping through (although I am still in denial about that as I can't quite believe it!)
Anne - it seems we have identical children (well the boys at least ;D)  I tried so hard with ds1 to extend naps too and he finally did it by himself at about 6 months. With ds2 I never had that much of a problem - either that or my mummy brain can't really remember. By the time I have grandchildren I'll be telling my kids that they all slept through at 6 weeks and were potty trained by 6 months ;D ;D ;D
I'm just gonna keep doing what I've been doing which is what I can, when I can... I can't really do any more can I? It's not perfect but like I keep telling myself we are all alive and that's the main thing.
Thanks again for your advice ladies :-*

Well I hope we can have identical DDs too!  Poppy is a couple of weeks older so I'll hold out hope that in a couple of weeks she'll be STTN too LOL  And yup, I'm surely telling my children the same thing ;)

Thanks ladies!

That's all you can do...we will get through this and our kids will be JUST FINE!!!

I was thinking that if you get (or can engineer it so you get) a week or 2 when you have your DH or mum etc. come help you out when you can spend time working on extending the naps you will hopefully find that DD continues sleeping through the 45min stage without you needing to actively extend them once your helper has left/returned to work.
Your DD is young though so hopefully her naps will extend as she grows.
Another option if she sleeps in the buggy is to time her naps with a trip to the park or similar so she can nap while the boys run around with a ball or something.
