To dream feed or not to dream feed!?
« on: March 15, 2011, 20:59:42 pm »
Hello

My lovely 10 week old LO has just about got this night time sleeping malarky sussed and is now going down somewhere between 7 and 8, and last night didn't wake up until 4.30am!  Loved it! He has been doing this on and off for a week or two (had a couple of bad nights but on the whole, good) with the wake up time getting later and later.

My dilemma now is whether to introduce a dream feed, in the hope that he will go through until 6/7 am.  We had planned to start dream feeding a month ago, but we both slept through the dream feed, waking when he did!! This happened a couple of nights on the trott, and coincided with LO sleeping longer, so we thought we'd leave it and see what happened.

Any advice? I don't want to upset things, as this long chunk of sleep is heaven! Never did I think I would be grateful for 6 hours of continuous sleep. I feel spoilt!!

Thanks

H xx

I personally wouldn't at this point. You're doing really well as it is, so I wouldn't mess with success. Sometimes introducing it later on can actually mess up sleep cycles. Sometimes not, but I wouldn't want to risk it.

I totally agree. That's a great stretch and if he's doing that stretch without the df, then I'd continue as you're going.

I think I spoke too soon!! 2.30am, and then 6 am the last two nights!  I'll persevere... see what happens!
