My son has to be woken in the morning because we need to start the day.  He now also is woken from nap because he wont settle at night.

wake 7:15 at the latest ALWAYS woken up
nap 12:30 or 12:45 we wake at 2:00 or 2:15
bed 7:30 but doesn't settle till 8:00 or 8:30

its a set nap since he was 12 months and transitioned frm 2-1.  We gone from waking and not waking during that time but this is the longest he's taking to settle at bed time.
Should I put him down earlier for nap?  He'll sleep till 2:45 if I let him for nap  :o  Whats up with bed time?

Hi

When he doesn't settle at BT, what does he do? This will give a clue as to whether he's UT or OT.

LO's sleep needs change at around 2 yrs old. We had to tweak DD's routine when she was 2....pushed her nap back & capped it at 1.5hrs.

pushed her nap back
What do you mean back?  Earlier?

When he resists bedtime he chatters to himself.  He talks about us or about his day.  It goes on for more then an hour sometimes.

No, later. to 1pm.

Sounds like it's more likely UT so either just cap the nap at 1.5hrs & keep current nap time or push nap back to 1pm & cap it at 1.5hrs, whatever you think would work best for your LO.
