I would go resettle him.  I have learned that if they are not the best at resettling, late afternoon is no the time they will do it by themselves.

I'd like to add to the EASY I just posted:
7-1040-a couple wakings, but quick resettle with paci
DF - 1040 DF(as usual)
NW - 330 at which shh/pat on his side made him cry more and he just stared at me when I just did shhh. He's just making some general fussy noises now and I'm hoping he'll tire himself out and fall back asleep soon.

Took an hour and a half for him to get to sleep and stay asleep! And of course wakes up at regular time! Hope its a good nap day so I can get some sleep today :)

So is a 20min nap UT/OT? I got another one this morning. I put DS down based on tired cues, not the clock and it seemed early, but he went to sleep quickly and easily - only to wake up 20min later?

20 min is usually discomfort.  Are you treating for teething pain? Are you dealing with reflux or intolerance?

I know you are suppose to watch for tired cues but it is very very common for those cues to become unclear from this point until around 10 mo or so. This is due to habit, boredom or any other reason that they feel like.

Not treating for teething pain, as I'm not 100% sure that's what's bothering him. His gums aren't red/swollen. He's not been diagnosed with reflux, but we have almost always had his mattress elevated due to a couple colds, constant spit-up and gas. I recently removed the wedge, so perhaps I need to put it back in.

I was watching cues yesterday and today is that he is waking up before me and has recently started to play quietly in his crib. So, when I finally do hear him, I'm not sure how long he has already been awake for. I'll try to ignore the cues then and stick with the 2hr 25min or 2hr 30min A times and hope for the best!

I have just gone back and reread our thread.  Sometimes it is hard for me to keep all you lovely ladies apart!

The common thing I see is that you are having 20min wakings and 45min wakings frequently.  You also have had your lo elevated and have had spit up and gas.  These are all reflux symtoms..of course there are other symptoms as well that go with it, but if it were me I would check out and see if there is a chance if that is going on.
Maybe check out this link and see if there are any other symptoms that pop up at you http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=654.0

Also, if you haven't, maybe go back and reread this thread and go back and read any other threads that you have had.  Sometimes when there is so much going on we miss what is being said to us. I am guilty of that!  You read quickly through looking desperately for the answer but the lo is crying or some other thing is going on and we sometimes miss things.  I have found it very useful to sit down when I have time to focus and reread my threads if I am not getting an answer.  Sometimes there are small clues you can pick up that you missed.  I the end BW is basically being a detective for you lo.  There is nothing magic and after 2 lo's I have found that most of the time I can figure out the answer better than a mod or another member bc I am the one living with all the facts.  We helpers only get bits and pieces not the whole picture so all we can do is give our 2 cents but it may not be the real answer you need.

Just a thought :-*
