Is the nap more important than where the nap happens?
« on: March 29, 2011, 17:40:05 pm »
Hi all,

DD is 10 weeks old and sleeps in her bassinet at night. During the day I try to get her to nap in the bassinet as well, but sometimes she only naps for about 45 mins. This causes hee to be overtired and it affects her night sleep.

However, I CAN get her to nap much longer in her swing, but I am afraid of creating a prop with the swing!

So what's better- letting her get good, long naps in the swing, or having her take short naps in the bassinet?

It's a balance, really. YOu're right, the prop will likely become a prop if you use it for all her naps, but you don't want her getting OT. So I would go for one or two naps per day in the bassinet, so that she is used to sleeping there.
