almost 10 months old!
« on: April 11, 2011, 01:54:58 am »
SO my first post was about my 8 month old still napping in the carseat. Since then I transitioned her to napping in the stroller (like the dcp will do) and this was working WONDERFULLY. She was taking two, 1.5 hour naps in the stroller.

The past two weeks she's suffered from back to back ear infections. Her ears we so badly infected she refused to lay down. The only way she would nap is if I drove around (so she was sitting up in the carseat) or walked outside with her in the stroller.

She is FINALLY better and now FREAKS out when I try and put her down for her naps in the stroller. I *think* she's used to the car or outside walk. What can I do?????????

Today I had to rock her in the stroller for 40 minutes and she finally fell asleep but only napped for 30 minutes. This afternoon she REFUSED to sleep so I resorted to a car ride where she fell asleep within 2 minutes and slept for over an hour.

Clearly the weather won't allow me to walk with her daily and the price of gas wont allow me to drive her around daily. The stroller was working SO well - how do I get it working well again????

PLEASE HELP!!!

THanks!
Linda

I have had that same problem, probably at around the same age too! here in Denmark all babies and toddlers nap in their pushchairs so when she was teething or whatever I would walk to help her sleep and afterwards she would never settle back again  ::) Firstly you should maybe review your routine, things change at this age and maybe she needs a slightly longer A time, if this isn't the case I did a kind of weaning period where I would rock the pushchair and do it less and less. Is it warm where you are now? My dd loved it if she could sleep outside overlooking the garden, it was like a winddown and she would eventually fall asleep.
