So my DS is now 14 weeks, last week we were doing some w2s to help extend our short naps and were having some success, maybe 50% of his naps extended, which was AMAZING. Last week he was also doing an awesome job of putting himself to sleep.
THIS week, however, we are weaning the swaddle, since he keeps breaking out and then that wakes him up. All weekend and today naps keep getting progressively worse as the day goes by (today actually they started out terrible...). I've been managing to get him down in his bed but once he wakes after 30-45mins there is no hope that I can get him back down. To keep the OT monster at bay while he gets used to having an arm out of the swaddle, I've been using whatever means possible to get him back to sleep, including shh/pat until my legs and arms go numb, but the only thing that ever really works is putting him in his wrap and bouncing him back to sleep.
Is it to much AP? am I undoing all of our hard work? Is there something else to try? Is keeping him from getting OT by extending naps the thing to do or should I just do more frequent naps and less A time to maintain sleep structure?
